Abid Alam News| Alam Group exhibits at the annual trade show UMA Trade Fair 2018

Alam Group of Companies was among the numerous companies which showcased their products at this year’s annual International UMA Trade fair that ran from 4th -10th October and attracted huge crowds.

In his message to the Traders, Mr. Abid Alam who took over from Hon James Mulwana as ChairmanUMA Advisory Council called upon the Traders to “remain firm and stand united in order to have a stronger voice to able to lobby Government for more conducive business policies.

The fair was a platform that Alam group used to market its products like the LPG Gas Product from Oxygas that drew a lot of attention from visitors The star attraction this year at the ALAM Group’s exhibition hall was the slideshow of the various companies on the huge 42-inch LED screen and the accompanying music. The two best-selling products were the Rhino gumboots and the Crocodile Chillington hoes.

The company that was highlighted this year was Steel Rolling Mills which had a special tent decorated in its corporate color of blue and white erected outside the Alam Group Hall. The other companies that exhibited their products included: Rhino Footwear, Casements (A) Limited, Oxygas, Saimmico, Crocodile, HILTI, Karcher, and Roof clad.

Know About Abid Alam

Abid Alam born in 1960 and raised in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. Then he attended Shimoni Demonstration and Nakasero Primary school. Thirdly, he went to Nairobi for my Secondary and completed my college in the United States. When he returned from the United States,  Abid Alam set up a construction company in Soroti district instead of joining the family businesses. Five years later, he became the Managing Director of Alam Group where he currently hold the Group Managing Director Position. Abid Alam Abid Alam,the Managing Director of Alam Group of Companies has contributed to the economic growth of Uganda with subsidiary companies. 4,000 Jobs created as Kassanda Sugar Factory sets to open in Mubende – UGNEWS24

  Mubende – The mega sugar factory is expected to offer direct employment to thousands of casual labourers and out-growers both within the Kassanda District and Uganda at large. The factory will need 1000 factory workers, 3000 workers in the agriculture department, and 1000 indirect employment. Kassanda Sugar Limited has developed numerous strategies for creating a strong relationship between growers and the processing factory by structuring Kassanda out growers’ scheme. Notably, 1000 growers are targeted to register with Kassanda Sugar Limited whereby registration and training of 300 out growers within Kassanda District and surrounding Lake Wamala region is ongoing to reduce the demand of sugarcane needed in the factory.  More so, 100 million daily cash payment to farmers has been approved, and interest free loans to farmers in terms of material loans like seed cane, fertilizers, and tractor services will be given to farmers.
